Yellow mangos are in season! It’s the perfect time to take advantage of the flavor and all the amazing health benefits of this tropical favorite. Mangos have been found to protect against a variety of cancers, including breast and colon. They are rich in Vitamins A, B, C, copper, and potassium. Additionally, certain enzymes in mangos help to keep your digestive system in check.

Steak

Mango salsa is a perfect way to get mangos into your life in a variety of ways: on wild-caught fish, heritage pork, grass-fed beef, or as a snack with organic quinoa tortilla chips.

Ingredients

  • 3 small organic yellow mangos, chopped
  • 1 organic avocado, chopped
  • ½ organic red pepper, seeded and chopped
  • ½ small organic red onion, chopped
  • ¼ organic jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 small bunch of organic cilantro, chopped
  • 1 organic lime
  • 1 TB cold-pressed olive oil
  • Raw honey to taste

Preparation

  1. Chop all ingredients and stir together with juice from one lime. (Depending on the sweetness of your mangos, add honey to taste.)
  2. Let stand for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to soak together.
