If you said turmeric….. you’re correct!

Many consider Turmeric to be one the most effective nutritional supplements in existence. Numerous medical studies have shown it has major benefits for your body and brain. The life-benefitting compounds are called curcuminoids, and curcumin is the most special! Curcumin is actually the main active ingredient in turmeric. The concentration of curcumin found in turmeric is not very high and many people take turmeric supplements in order to feel the full effects.

This recipe for tea is a fantastic way to warm yourself this winter while ingesting one of nature’s most effective and beneficial ingredients. It’s important to always use pepper in any turmeric recipe as it plays a critical role in the absorption of curcumin.

Ingredients


  • 1 inch organic turmeric root
  • 1/2 inch organic ginger root
  • 1 1/4 c water
  • freshly ground black pepper

Optional

  • Organic lemon
  • Raw honey

Preparation

1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.

2. Turn off heat and add turmeric root, ginger root and black pepper.

3. Place lid on the pot and let steep for about 5 minutes.

4. Pour through a strainer into cup and enjoy.

5. If adding raw honey, let cool slightly to preserve the benefits of the honey.
